Poker Talk Again

Hey one and all its me again coming out of my vacation of the blogging to start it up again. First off I did play some tourneys between my last posting and this but other then being gilgi in one of the mookies been basically same as it usually is missing out of the money or final table or hell both.

Tonight I decided to post just for the fact that I did well in tonight skillz game and basically losing a tiny bit of respect for Heffmike and his chat when we were heads up. Tonight it was horse and everyone knows im not a fan of the high low games, but tonight I kinda tried to not play them to the extent I do the other games and see how it works. Turned out to be a decent stragety like I said before getting 2nd.

With the heads up I had a pretty decent chip lead over heffmike I think it started out 3-1 me or something around that we played back and forth for a while he won hands I won hands. Then when I was shorty and started to catch he was getting mad in the chat, hell I did that in the past also but I was more pissed about my luck not the other person's play/luck, but when I was all in and doubled up I told him I had 2 pair, this is stud btw, by 4th street he goes ugh duh u think. Thats kind of a slap in the face just to be a jerk for no reason. I mean he caught cards on 7th street on me I just asked him did you catch on 7th. Numbs answer I like when I ask him but basically just being unsportsmanlike is dissapointing. I know hes a good player and all that but you got to be a good person as well. It took a smack of reality for me to go in this direction, something private and family only so please dont ask, but I mean not cool man.

This little blogger tourney community we have we shouldnt be hating one another or being nasty to each other for just how the cards fall. I know when I did that it was wrong and I told the person the next time I saw them I was sorry. I just hope this little rant might help and just show that im not annoyed or upset just disappointed and again lost a bit of respect for you Heffmike, not the poker player, but the man

BBT TOC/ Las Vegas

I waited to post about the BBT since I was kind of upset about what happened to me to get taken out. I was hanging around the starting stack for the first 2 hours due to the fact I didnt get any hands to play around with. Basically the 3rd hour was when I got hands to play with and even got to around 20k in chips. When it got to 10 people left the hand that crippled me was my pocket 10's vs smallboatdrinks pocket 9's we got it in preflop. Turn gives him a set and gives me like 4k in chips and I was basically done and I was taken out in 9th when my ace 5 got beat down in a race vs king jack. Tens were the hand that hurt me this tourney as I lost with them 5 times.

Rambler and I got into vegas around 1030am on wed morning after a early flight. We met up with a bunch of cardplayer fourms posters and bloggers in the evening but before that we went over to the rio for the wsop and I attempted to get into the 1500 nl event by getting some sat tokens. I got 2nd when a guy didnt want to chop even though basically there was no real difference in chips between us and every other table was chopping at the final 2. So it wasnt ment to be because even though I brought enough to buy in directly I wasnt planning on that so just watched.

We met up with the group from the fourms, not puting names so I dont forget anyone and so I dont screw up on names cause I suck at them lol, and we played some 4/8 limit at Mirage first night I got crushed only winning 1 pot. Go me. Next day we again went to play cards this time at bellagio and did alright over there. Then we went to go check the wsop again at night to see how one of the people we knew, shifty, was doing. When we get there hes on a table next to the rail with Humberto Brennes, who I found out after the fact I went to school and even played softball in a beerleague with his nephew. He was asking us about the basketball game score and we even saw Hellmuth jump out of his seat when Derek Fisher hit the big shot. I wasnt a happy camper since I bet on the magic that game so lost 20 bucks again go me lol. This night was also a great night since we got to see Phil Hellmuth have a bitchfest when he was taken out. He went to the other side of the room where the shootout tourney was going on and just was pissed off then he lays down on a few chairs and with his phone in the air. Im not sure who threw the line out but was basically funny as hell, Honey Im twittering. He was there for over an hour like that we were thinking this is a tiny tourney for him I wonder how long his rants are if they are the major tourneys We go back to the strip and rambler goes to bed I go with the other guys and play cards again at the mirage and did well that night going up 230 bucks area but still down for the trip.

Next day we went to go watch shifty play in the wsop for day 2 since he did cash so that was kind of interesting. I believe this was the night when something or better yet someone you wouldnt expect to be playing low stakes played with all of us on a horse game for a round of the games. We wanted to try to get a horse game started at the Mirage but the pitboss said we had to wait till 10pm for the dealer switch so we went and played different games for a while. Im sitting out of a hand when shifty walks over and says Jerry Buss is going to play with us. I was thinking there is no way he could crush us with his wallet plus I would think he would be in Orlando to see his lakers win the title if they do out there. When we get the game all set Jerry Buss comes over and I walk over to shifty and say I thought you were joking. I was sitting to his right and I got 2 pictures of him with me which I will post on here. It was pretty fun playing with him only one person asked him for an signature and we were joking around with him which was pretty cool.

Sat was the interesting day. I dont really remember which came first but 2 things happened. We all were playing in the 120 donkament at the Venitian we had a last longer bet with 9 people playing I didnt win a hand never had a hand higher then ace 10 suited for 2 hours which is horrid even for me lol but while on the rail this older german man comes up to me and nick on the rail and starts pointing to tickets for the blueman group from 2 nights earlier and we were confused what was happening but then we figured it out cause they had 25 free slot play on it so we got it all signed up played the slots and got 15 bucks each since peka came as well and we split it. That night or early morning at the bellagio they had a massage lady come by and im like screw it im getting a massage. It sounds really weird but an old german man got me a massage lol. That night was also sweet cause I got into a big pot for 4/8 standards where the turn got 6 bet and river got 8 bet and I win with a full house to a guys flush. I had the fullhouse on the turn he rivered the flush just everyone is clear lol. Ended the night up about 250 on that table alone with the prop bets of red/black and numbers.

Sunday I got killed in everything I did. Lost 300 bucks on blackjack and final 4 hands I played were 25 bucks each dealer got blackjack all 4 times not a good start. Cash game at the V still didnt win a hand on my first cash table so down another 200 watched rambler for a while then said screw it played again on his table 1st hand I won was with aces and they heald. 2nd time I had aces I got chased down by this moron playing 2 3 of hearts with flop of 8 10 3 one heart and me betting each street runner runner flush and im hurt again. We leave to get food with Tommy at the noodle bar and watch the final 9 mins of the nba finals and see everyone cheer in the room since L.A won. We go over to Mirage to say goodbye to everyone since they were going to the Wynn so it was basically me rambler and albino, he went to the sit and go tourney. The hand of the cash game for me and Rambler was he had aces I had 3 5 clubs flop i get open ended straight draw turn I get my straight he makes his set and I also have a straight flush draw so we get 4 bets in river pairs the board and makes my flush so I take a hit to end the trip.

So overall I went down about 1200 bucks but I mean I had a great time so in the end the money doesnt matter too much, would of been nice to win or even get into the wsop but oh well. Also with these pictures I want to ask people if I really do look like turtle from Entorague since I was told that at least a dozen times lol

Skillz Game

Tonight I got to play in this since I didnt have work. It was Omaha high low so basically Im going into it just to have some fun. Basically play a few hands and went out pretty early for me within 20 mins. I had a good hand on the flop. I had a set vs a super ultra wheel draw that got there not 1 time but both the turn and river so away I go. Tomorrow night I wont be playing in the Mookie due to work which im not liking working from 1130pm-6am then 10am-630pm next day so looking at a long cranky thursday night. I will be watching the Mookie before I go to work so I will be the railbird for the night. I know on BRD they were doing odds on players in the TOC of winning WSOP seats I just wonder what mine would be? If people want to throw odds for me to make it I would be interested. Hope to see and have a few people rooting for me on sunday.

Brit Blogger Game/BBT Big Game/BBT Big Game Mulligan

All I can say is wow from this day. Went from horrible feeling when I woke up to right now before I go to sleep feeling amazing. I finally did it I won a Blogger tourney and not just and blogger tourney but the Big Game with top prize of 1284.87. Today was my last shot to get my seat so basically this is huge for me.

But I will get into that when I talk more in depth on it. Brit game I didnt do so hot basically just getting smashed by the deck. Hand that took me out was opponents aces to my queens so out before first break.

The Mulligan game I was doing alright for a while and got my stack up to basically about 8000 which was my high then just I began to bleed chips and got knocked out in the bottom half not exactly sure where.

The Big Game. Basically when this started I was focused just to get into the points so I could secure top 20 since that would be nice even if I didnt get a seat for the TOC. Basically was getting knocked down and needed to double up a few time to get to the top 18 since I was getting low just missing or worse kicker those kind of things. When it got into the points I was short stack with about 4000 when chip leader had about 24k in that area so I was kinda getting desperate. I had a double up hit my way got to the final 10 then this hand happens

This pot basically changed my whole thinking from ok I might get into the money to hell I have a shot at this thing now. Going into the final table I was 2nd or 3rd not sure which. Listening to BRD tonight was interesting since most of the people in the final 5 were on air and playing didnt really change much but was different since it kinda felt more to me at least like a live tourney. The final 5 people only Numb and I didnt have a seat so if I didnt win I would be rooting for Numb to take it down since hes a pretty solid player IMO and just didnt catch the cards at the right time, kinda like how I am 99.9% of the time. 4th went to Shabazz Jenkins when I had a higher pp then him. When it got to three handed with BuddyDank, MiamiDon and myself I asked if either would take a deal if it got to heads up with me, they both said no so I knew I had to win it to get it. I took a huge gamble vs miami when I heald 5's to his ace 10 off and he spiked a ten on the turn to basically cripple me I was down to 14k chips area with blinds at 2500/5k. I then became a card rack and clawed my way all the way back into connention when buddy doubled me up with ace 4 to my ace queen. A few hands later Buddy got taken out so it was down to me and MiamiDon. This was my best placeing so far so either way was happy with my play. First hand of heads up I double up when I hit a flush to his 2 pair. Next hand this happens.

I was just in total shock for like a minute since I went from having little to no shot, to taking down the title, the 1st place prize of 1284.87 and the final seat into the TOC. Is this my biggest win ever on a poker site, no. Is it something I needed to get some needed confidence hells yes. I wasnt feeling to great about my poker game just because I think I play too vanilla, maybe I still do but maybe this is what I needed to kick start what I used to be. See everyone at the TOC.

skillz/mookie

waited a few days on these since these hurt a little bit when I got taken out in both. In the skillz game it was the story of basically running into things a tiny bit better then me on 7th street. It could of been earlier but who knows with the card switching which makes no sense to me. But out early in this and no points.

Mookie basically first hand was my high point with chips as I hit my flush and had an open ended straight draw to a persons set. The hand that took me out I knew the person I was playing vs didnt have an ace on a board of ace queen 6 I hold king queen. My king hits on the river but it also gives me a flush and thats what busts me. Just bad timing on that but again no points or cash in mookie but that im used to lol.

Sunday is the last day of the BBT and my last chance to win a tourney and get a seat which I would love to get. Like some people know I am going to vegas June 10-14 so if I do get lucky enough and win a 2k seat or more I would use it for a wsop event. Im really considering playing in either the 1500 no limit tourney on the 11th event 24 if people are looking for that or 1500 limit tourney on the 12th event 26. I hope that I get into the top 20 in points also since right now im #20. I hope to see everyone sunday.

Mookie/Brit Blogger

Well im writing after the brit blogger tourney about these two. I did make points in both of these which is good but only 1 cash. With the Mookie I was playing a bit more loose then I normally do and it seemed to be working for the most part. Got a good double up when I had 10's vs 8's hold for me. Basically went out on a coinflip after I hit my over he hit his set.

Brit Blogger I thought I was finally going to break through and win a blogger tourney since I was on the end of hitting the 2 and 3 outers. I got 3rd once again which is kinda my high point in these since this is my 5th third place in this BBT. I was facing kat and jo so I was basically the odd person out so I was the bad guy lol. The hand that took me out was vs kat when she heald ace 2 of crubs and I had ace 4 of hearts and she hits a set of 2's to take me out in 3rd. Jo won the tourney so gratz to her.

With these 2 in the points I get into the top 20 so hopefully I stay there since the 25k of ftp would be nice so I can get either another jersey or just stockpile them up. Tomorrow night is the last PPI of the BBT so I hope to see everyone there.

PPI

Well today was a weird day. I was planning on going to the mets game with my brother since we wanted to see Santana vs Lowe. We were looking into the tickets online and saw a ton of seats still on sale so we figured we can buy them at the stadium since for the 15 dollar seats they had a 7.50 service charge which is pretty stupid. We get to the window the guy says the cheapest he has are 100 dollars. Keep in mind this was about 30 mins after we left the house with the computer saying 15 were on sale and in a big amount. We werent happy to see when we got back to his apartment that there was a giant section of seats that no one ever sat in. I find that to be complete bullshit. To top off this experience we got to talk to a guy and said how can they sell that much in that short of time and he went "Tough." Douchebag right there so screw it wont be attending as many games as I planned on.

Anyway back to the reason for the post. I got into the points of the PPI ending up in 11th place. I only played 8% of the hands I saw which if you know percents is pretty horrid. I usually play pocket pairs, suited connectors, big cards and once in a while bluff but still saw 19 flops out of 229 which is crazy. I got very lucky when I played king queen vs ace 9offsuit(I hate that hand sooooooo much) and rivered a straight to his set of aces. The only other hand I really pushed with was jacks vs king queen off and the jacks held for me. This is my first points in a while so im feeling alright just wish I got to have some more hands to play with because even though I play like that it gets annoying when other people get hands over and over and over again and you see 2 3 over and over and over btw not suited. Tomorrow I should be playing in the Skillz game hopefully I can do well again since I do want points but really want a win.

BTW I gotta thank Numbbono for his comment he gave me I know I cant win everyone but I get where you were coming from and I know it was words of encouragement so I want to thank you for that. Also I want to give a shout out to Buddy and Joananda for their engagement. Congratz :).

PPI/Skillz Game

These tourneys for me sucked. It might sound like im either making this crap up or just bitching a bit too much, but im just really getting annoyed of how when I have aces and never seem to win and when I face aces I cant crack them. The PPI I had aces 2 times and lost to king queen and king ten, the king queen lost to trip queens and king ten to straight. Went out with queens vs aces.

Skillz game I lost when I flopped a set with another pair so I had some out but I ran into a flush and couldnt improve. Then when I go all in I have queens again vs aces and lose

Tomorrow night Idk if im going to be home from work but right now the way im running idk even if I do get home I would even play it since it would be a quick 11 dollar loss but who knows.
